Kynrem Falls drops in three distinct stages down a sheer black cliff inside Thangkharang Park, about 12 km from Sohra town. At roughly 305 metres it ranks among the tallest falls in India, and in monsoon the lowest stage fans out across the rock in a way that makes the whole cliff look like it is moving.
The main viewpoint is inside Thangkharang Park, a landscaped garden on the edge of the plateau that also looks out over the Bangladesh plains and across to Khoh Ramhah, the giant conical rock the locals call the Basket Stone. There is a railed path leading closer to the base of the falls with stalls and seating nearby.
Because it is rain-fed it is genuinely seasonal — spectacular from June through September, modest by March. If you are visiting Sohra in monsoon, this is the one to prioritise.
